Frequently asked questions

Where does the warehouse.broker list come from?

From two free public sources: OpenStreetMap, the community map of the world (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL license), where volunteers map warehouses and distribution centers; and the FMCSA company register (U.S. Department of Transportation), where companies with “warehouse”, “fulfillment”, “cold storage” or “3PL” in their name hold an active USDOT number. We never add invented companies, reviews or prices.

How much does warehouse space cost?

Public warehousing is usually priced per pallet per month plus handling fees for each pallet in and out; dedicated space is priced per square foot per year. Our cost guide shows dated estimate ranges — always get 2–3 written quotes.

What is a 3PL?

A third-party logistics (3PL) company stores your goods and ships orders for you: receiving, storage, pick and pack, shipping and returns. You pay per pallet, per order and per service instead of running your own warehouse.

How many pallets fit in a warehouse?

In a typical racked warehouse, one pallet position takes about 12–15 sq ft of floor space once aisles are included, and racks stack 3–5 high. Try our pallet & space calculator for your own numbers.

Is warehouse.broker free to use?

Yes. Searching, the guides and the calculators are free, with no sign-up. The site is supported by advertising, which never changes which companies are listed or their order.
